Our strongest memories are often tied to our experience of a place. I realized over the past year that my artwork speaks most to our inseparable relationship with the natural world. Our environment creates context for everything we do.
The Moon Bowls project started ten weeks ago, at the very beginning of November 2017. I had been thinking about a theme for my upcoming ceramics exhibit, and a different perspective on my passion for exploring unknown environments in art.
A collection of my recent and brand-new ceramics will be on display at Georgie’s Ceramic & Clay in Northeast Portland from Jan. 13 – March 7, 2018. I’ll be unveiling the first iteration of my newest project, Moon Bowls, as the featured work in my exhibit titled “Night Sea.”
This week I took a huge step away from my typical photogram process by adding bright, abstract color to the stark black-and-white series.
Join me at holiday art events around the Portland area this season! I’ll have new ceramics, paintings, prints and notecards in stock.
Every piece in this exhibit invites an experience of the senses, inspired by the wild, physical beauty of the natural world, and the wonder of exploring every detail of the landscapes that sustain us.
