March's full moon is known as the Worm Moon, Sap Moon, Sugar Moon, Wind Moon, and Crow Moon in various Native American and Chinese traditions.
The Anglo Saxons named the March full moon the Lenten Moon, which is derived from Germanic languages and means spring. The Lenten Moon gave its name to the Christian Lent period before Easter. March's full moon may be closest to the Spring Equinox. If it occurs after the equinox, it determines the date of Easter.
